JAIME-LEIGH GLADWELL
Registered Psychologist: BASc(Psych), BPsych(Hons), MClinPsych, MAPS
Jaime is a registered psychologist and has experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing a range of presentations including depression, separation anxiety, social anxiety, body image concerns, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, selective mutism, stress and generalised anxiety disorder. As part of her Master’s degree, she completed a thesis on the relationship between interception and body dissatisfaction in males with disordered eating and eating disorder symptoms.
Jaime adopts a humanistic approach to therapy with her clients. She emphasises empathy, genuineness, collaboration and transparency in enhancing rapport and an authentic therapeutic alliance. She is skilled in supporting individuals to achieve a positive sense of self and understands the importance of creating a safe space. Her training has primarily revolved around utilising Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, however she also implements techniques relevant to Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This allows Jaime to identify therapeutic goals and treatment plans that are exclusively tailored to the needs of her clients.
Jaime has obtained general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and adheres to the professional codes of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She also has training in Family Based Therapy through The Victorian Centre of Excellence in Eating Disorders (CEED). Away from her clinical work, Jaime enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family. She is passionate about self-care and likes to maintain a healthy lifestyle..
