JAMES FARROUGH

Provisional Psychologist – BMus, GDipPsych, MProfPsych

James is a provisional psychologist who is passionate about providing evidence-based psychological treatment to clients experiencing a broad range of mental health challenges. James has a Master’s Degree in Professional Psychology and experience in working with a range of client concerns including anxiety, sexuality/gender exploration, relationship challenges, body image concerns, disordered eating, intellectual disorders, and situational adversity. James also has previous training in orchestral music performance and performance psychology and was co-lecturer of Peak Performance Under Pressure at the University of Melbourne.

Drawing upon his 8 years of experience working with students in educational settings, James uses a person-centred approach to collaboratively work with individuals to create the scaffold for change. James’ goal is to help client develop their insight, coping abilities, and supports to allow them to flourish. Humour, non-judgement, curiosity, and positive rapport are the key qualities that James strives for in every session with clients to support them through their therapeutic journey.

James is registered as a provisional psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and abides by the professional conduct codes and standards of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Outside of the therapy room, James enjoys cooking, hanging out with his Labrador, and playing board games with friends.
