MATTHEW KOO
Provisional Psychologist – BA, GradDipProfPsych, MProfPsych
Matthew is a provisional psychologist who is passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults on their personal journey to discover their agency, strengthen wellbeing, and get back to living life to the fullest. He strives to create a collaborative and non-judgemental environment through his warm and empathetic style, promoting vulnerability and self-compassion.
Through his personal experiences with anaphylaxis, Matthew understands the unavoidable nature of eating as a core element of social interactions and everyday life, and how these worries and disordered thoughts can pile on existing stressors.
Matthew works with individuals experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. His therapeutic approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM).
Outside of the clinic, Matthew enjoys playing basketball, singing, and playing the guitar and violin.
