MIKAYLA MILAN
Provisional Psychologist – BPsychSc, AdvGradDipPsych, MProfPsych
Mikayla is a provisional psychologist who values the importance of the therapeutic relationship and tailoring therapy to each individual’s unique experiences and goals. Her approach is grounded in person-centred practice, with a focus on creating a safe and inclusive space where clients feel heard, understood and empowered.
Through her work with individuals facing challenging circumstances including family violence and homelessness, she has developed a dedication for the importance of validating clients’ experiences, reducing self-blame, and understanding personal difficulties within their broader social and systemic contexts. She aims to work collaboratively with clients to recognise their existing strengths and support them in developing a greater sense of autonomy and confidence in navigating their next steps.
Mikayla’s clinical training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E) and Family-Based Treatment (FBT). She is interested in supporting children, adolescents and adults through a range of mental health concerns including trauma and the relationship between psychological and physical health.
Outside of her passion for psychology, Mikayla enjoys going to the cinema, reading and spending quality time with loved ones.
